This Privacy Policy explains how Gravity Cloud Services, Inc., doing business as “MatterAI” ("MatterAI", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our websites, products, and services, including our AI code review and engineering intelligence tools (the "Services").

MatterAI is an engineering intelligence company for AI coding. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information responsibly.

Who we are

MatterAI is operated by Gravity Cloud Services, Inc., a Delaware corporation with a principal mailing address at 651 N Broad St, Suite 201, Middletown, Delaware, 19709. If you use our Services on behalf of an organization, that organization’s administrator may control certain aspects of your account and data.

Scope

This policy applies to information we collect through: (a) our websites (including matterai.so), (b) our hosted products and APIs, (c) our IDE extensions, CI/CD integrations, and other developer tools, and (d) our communications and support channels. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or integrations that are governed by their own policies.

Definitions

  • Company means Gravity Cloud Services, Inc., doing business as “MatterAI”.

  • Services means our websites, products, APIs, and developer tools.

  • Personal data means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an identifiable person.

  • Usage data means telemetry and log information collected automatically when you use the Services.

  • Account and contact information (e.g., name, email address, organization, role, authentication identifiers).

  • Workspace and billing information (e.g., workspace name, plan tier, billing contact and address, payment information processed by our payment provider).

  • Content you submit (e.g., pull request metadata, code snippets, diffs, comments, prompts and outputs you send to or receive from our Services).

  • Communications (e.g., support requests, feedback, survey responses).

Information we collect automatically

  • Log and device data (e.g., IP address, browser type, settings, operating system, device identifiers, date/time, pages viewed, referrer/exit pages, crash reports).

  • Product telemetry (e.g., feature usage, performance metrics, error events, configuration flags) to maintain and improve the Services.

  • Cookies and similar technologies used for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and to improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Information from third parties

  • Integrations (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, SSO providers) that you connect authorize us to access certain data as needed to provide the Services.

  • Service providers and partners that help us operate, secure, and improve the Services.

How we use information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including processing prompts, code, and outputs you submit to enable features like AI code review and documentation.

  • Secure and protect the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce policies.

  • Research and improve the Services, including developing new features, quality and safety testing, and analytics.

  • Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and administrative messages. With your consent or as permitted by law, we may send product announcements or offers; you can opt out at any time.

  • Compliance with legal obligations, and to protect the rights, safety, and property of MatterAI, our users, and the public.

Model training and data use. We do not use your private repository content, source code, or prompts/outputs submitted to our enterprise Services to train foundation models, unless you or your organization expressly opt in or provide written permission.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the address below. If you use the Services through an organization, please contact your administrator first.

Residents of the EEA/UK may have additional rights under GDPR. California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance.
